Oliver Peoples Eyewear in Pendleton, SC
Understated luxury, drawn from a West Hollywood atelier.

A house built on discipline, not trend.

Oliver Peoples opened on Sunset Boulevard in 1987 with a single boutique and a rediscovered collection of vintage frames. Larry Leight built the house on a devotion to detail that reads less like fashion and more like film: soft acetates, carefully finished edges, and warm metal hardware.
Nearly four decades later, the design language has stayed remarkably faithful. Frames are drawn slowly and finished with care. The result is quiet, cinematic eyewear that flatters the wearer rather than announces itself.
“Eyewear should feel like it belongs to you the moment you put it on: quiet, refined, and unmistakably personal.”
Detail you can feel before you can see.
Layered Acetate
Multi layered acetate gives the collection the depth and warmth Oliver Peoples is known for, with a finish that reads richer the closer you look.
Antique Hardware
Signature filigree hinges and metal cores are finished in aged gold, silver, and bronze, a subtle detail visible only at close range.
Vintage Blueprints
New releases still draw on the archive of frames Leight rescued in the eighties, keeping the collection anchored in an American mid century sensibility.
Silhouettes worth knowing by name.
The definitive round frame, softened for modern proportions.
A refined keyhole silhouette with quiet intellectual charm.
Rectangular optical with a tailored, editorial finish.
A revived thirties silhouette in warm burnished tones.
Who Oliver Peoples suits
- Anyone who wants one excellent everyday optical frame rather than several disposable ones.
- Warm skin tones and softer face shapes, which the house tortoises and burnished metals flatter particularly well.
- Professionals who want their glasses to be noticed second, after the person wearing them.

Fit notes
Oliver Peoples runs on the refined side, with slim temples and a shallower depth than most mass produced frames. That is a benefit if you have a narrower face or a lower bridge, and something we adjust for carefully if you do not. Acetate responds well to heat adjustment, so we set the temple curve and the bridge to your face before you leave, and we re-set it for free any time it drifts.
Lens notes
These are frames worth good lenses. We usually pair them with a thinner high index material so the edges stay slim in the rim, an anti reflective coating so the frame reads clean in photographs and conversation, and a digitally surfaced progressive if you need one. We walk through the tradeoffs before anything is ordered.
