Ray-Ban Eyewear in Pendleton, SC
The American original, the sunglass that defined the twentieth century.

A house built on discipline, not trend.

Ray-Ban began in 1937 with a pilot’s sunglass designed to cut the glare of high altitude flight. The result was the Aviator, a sunglass with a scientific purpose that became style shorthand almost immediately.
The Wayfarer followed in 1952, drawn as a break from the metal frames that had dominated eyewear for a century. Together the two silhouettes shaped how the modern world sees the sun, and both remain in production today.
“A name born from a purpose. Every frame since has carried the same optical discipline.”
Detail you can feel before you can see.
G-15 Lens
The original green lens tuned for true color and glare control, still one of the most recognizable optics in eyewear.
Italian Production
The collection is made in Italy, using acetates and metals refined across decades of eyewear production.
Silhouettes That Endure
The Aviator, Wayfarer, Clubmaster, and Round each keep their original proportions, updated in materials rather than design.
Silhouettes worth knowing by name.
The 1937 original, the frame that started it all.
The 1952 silhouette that never left the cultural stage.
The browline classic revived from mid century modern.
A refined round in delicate metal, a house heritage piece.

Fit notes
Aviators are a fit exercise more than a style one. The lens should not sit below the cheekbone, and the adjustable nose pads need setting properly or the frame slides all day. Wayfarers run wide at the temple on narrower faces, and we adjust the temple curve so the frame holds without pressure. We size both against your face rather than by the number printed inside.
Lens notes
Most Ray-Ban silhouettes take a prescription well. We usually recommend polarized for driving and glare, and we will explain where polarization is not ideal, such as some dashboard and phone screens. Stronger prescriptions in a wrapped or larger shape need care, and we will tell you honestly if a particular frame is not a good candidate for your script.
